The Most Wonderful Time of the Year
Posted: December 26, 2016
We are continuing to count our blessings as the holiday season comes to an end. Christmas is always one of the busiest times of year here at the Mission, and this year was no exception. Our goal is to make sure every resident and guest has a complete Christmas experience.
We do everything possible to provide a sense of family during Christmas, and throughout the year. This year our residents were able to enjoy the eighth annual Mary Esch Memorial Christmas Concert and afterwards attended a Christmas party with delicious snacks and surprises.
This year thanks to the generosity of our Board of Directors, and the support of local businesses, churches, and schools we were able to offer our largest “toy store” yet! Parents and grandparents were able to select a variety of toys for their children that were then wrapped by our volunteers. This made Christmas morning that much more special when Santa delivered all the toys! Our adult residents received care packages of Christmas gifts that included toiletries and other essentials.
Lastly, on Christmas Day we served a very special meal in our dining hall to all of our residents and guests. Afterwards our guests from the street were even invited into our Warehouse to receive a Christmas gift of their own!
Together we are changing lives in Jesus’ name, on Christmas day and every day of the year. Thank you for being such an essential part of UGM-TC!
