UGM-TC Gives Thanks
Posted: November 30, 2020
Despite Covid-19, UGM-TC still celebrated Thanksgiving by serving delicious meals to residents. We even launched a new tradition: the UGM-TC Turkey Fry!
On the Tuesday before Thanksgiving our staff fried over 20 turkeys! These fed not only the residents and guests at UGM-TC, but also the tenants at The Vineyard on Lancaster next door. We were also able to provide 53 boxes of Thanksgiving goods to feed over 65 individuals that call The Vineyard on Lancaster home!
Although this Thanksgiving looked different than years past, everyone still enjoyed fellowship and a time to give thanks. We even had a special guest, Fort Worth’s own Josh Weathers, join UGM-TC Chaplain, Father Andy, for a very special worship in the Deborah Hall Memorial Chapel.
We look forward to the years to come when we will fry more turkeys to serve other areas in the community. And when we can gather more closely again, we plan to have live music and entertainment, and more volunteers and friends in the community join us.
Thank you to everyone who had a hand in making this Thanksgiving special despite the circumstances. We are thankful for you every day!
