    After 15 years away from Fort Worth to care for his ailing father, Chris had come back only to find that the city had changed and the opportunities he had counted don were gone. Chris' money ran out before he was able to find a job and he ended up asking a bus driver where he could find help.

  • Suzie Murray Prayer Chapel Dedication

    Yesterday we dedicated the Suzie Murray Prayer Chapel located in our new Scott Walker Women and Families Services building. Almost 100 dedicated UGM supporters gathered to celebrate Suzie and the new chapel. Suzie’s preacher, Ted Kitchens, gave the blessing and joined Suzie’s daughter and son-in-law, John and Kathleen Dodd, with some caring words about Suzie.

    Shirley, a Fort Worth native, was left with nothing after a big mistake put her in jail. Before coming to the Mission Shirley had never experienced a shelter, but quickly learned that anybody can fall “even school teachers and executives”.
