Being a single father can be tough in the best circumstances. For Herbert, not being able to provide a home for his three children was a challenge he had never planned for. Still, he did his best to keep them safe, staying with friends and family members while the children finished school.

Renewal Story: Lucas

Lucas had been living with and caring for his disabled mother, all while suffering severe back pain and neuropathy himself. When his mother passed away, Lucas’s problems intensified. “Losing my mom was a very traumatic experience,” he remembers. “I got into a downward spiral of depression and anxiety.”
